GOLF TIPS

Driving: For better accuracy make sure your stance is wide enough for better balance (typically just outside shoulder width) and make sure you maintain your spine angle. Since your swinging with the longest club in the bag, these two things are really keys to better accuracy.

Power Swing: When you swing harder at the ball, one of the main things to make sure you do is to keep your head behind the ball. This is real important because swinging harder can sometimes causes your upper body to get ahead of the ball and results would end up in a big slice.

Backswing: Always remember that the backswing on a full shot is never complete until your shoulder is completely behind the ball.

Slicing: If you start loosing your ball to a slice, nine times out of ten it’s because the shaft was steep on the downswing and swinging over the top is the main cause of the shaft being steep in your swing.

Iron Play: When I’m having a day that I’m struggling with my irons I just simply take one more club on my approach & swing easy. Although I do understand some players have trouble hitting a controlled shot but just remember that when your swinging easier than normal, focus on hitting the inside part of the ball.
Green sand shot: When I’m in the sand trap next to the green I try to visualize my club going completely under the golf ball without touching it. Also, I make sure that I get some sand on the green when I hit the ball. Doing these two things with some practice should help you get the ball a little closer the next time your in the trap next to the green.

In the Rough: When the ball is laying down in the rough, take more club and swing steep but be careful not to get the shaft steep and ending up not getting the ball out of the rough.

The Putt: When putting it is really important to keep the putter head level. Typically when a player is pulling putts it’s more than likely the toe of the putter is higher than the heel.

Equiptment: There's many different brands & models in golf equipment. I recommend you check out your local Golf Equipment Center and talk with their Golf Pro. Once you have selected a club brand, have the pro to set you up in their simulator and take some swings to see how the club feels. I suggest to try out several different models before making your choice. Once you've selected your club, talk to the pro about custom fitting your new clubs just for your golf swing. Custom fit clubs are great and will help you play better golf.
